Bloomsburg Loses to Pitt-Johnstown in Women's Basketball

JOHNSTOWN - The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team returned to the court on Thursday night and lost to Pitt-Johnstown, 78-49, in the opening round of the Mountain Cat Women's Basketball Tournament. The Huskies will play at consolation game at 1 p.m. on Friday against Philadelphia University.

The Mountain Cats led from start to finish in the game grabbing a 17-7 lead seven minutes into the game. Then later, leading 44-30 at halftime, the Mountain Cats used a 12-3 run to start the second half to put the game out of reach.

Bloomsburg (3-6) was led in scoring by Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/Wyoming Valley West) and Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) with 14 points each.

Pitt-Johnstown (8-2) got 19 points from Crystal Andrews and 15 from Jessica Zapf. In addition, Allison Krischer scored 11 and Samantha Conner added 10 for the Mountain Cats.
